Megan was running late for school. Only this time, it wasnât her fault. It was her Dadâs.
âI know my keys are around here somewhere,â he said. âWill you help me look, Meg?â Heâd been frantically looking for his keys for the last 10 minutes.
Megan rolled her eyes in response and pretended to look for the keys. She was too annoyed to actually help, though. Her dad had a bad habit of misplacing thingsâand not just simple things like keys or a wallet. It wasnât uncommon for Meganâs dad to take the ice cream out of the freezer, go grab a spoon and bowl, and then forget where he put the ice cream. Days later, heâd find it melted in a random kitchen cabinet. At this point, Megan was fed up.
âDad, I donât see your keys anywhere. Are you sure theyâre in the house?â Megan called out to her dad.
âWell, of course! Where else would they be?â her dad called back.
âHave you looked outside? Remember that time your keys were in the recycling bin in the garage?â
Meganâs dad chuckled. âGood point! I still donât know how they got there, but Iâll go check in the garage. And in the trash can, for good measure.â
Megan smiled to herself. She really did love her dad, flaws and all. Suddenly, she heard her dad yell out from the garage. Megan raced outside.
âLook at this, Meg!â her dad said, gesturing to his car. âMy keys were in the car, and it was already running. Did you start the car earlier to warm it up and forget?â
âNo, Dad,â said Megan, fighting back the urge to roll her eyes again. âIâm pretty sure you must have done that.â
âI sure donât remember. But then, I never do! Come on, letâs get you to school before I lose the car.â
Megan and her dad got in the car. âJust another day with my dad,â thought Megan, grinning to herself.
